Energy and Water Efficiency Program

Purpose of the Ordinance

The Energy and Water Efficiency Program, part of ReEnergize Reno, seeks to improve energy and water efficiency in large buildings.

Applicability of the Ordinance

The program applies to commercial and multifamily buildings of 25,000 square feet or more with ENERGY STAR scores below 49.

Compliance Requirements

Building owners must complete energy and water audits or retuning to meet performance targets. Penalties for non-compliance can reach $2,000, with additional fines of $500 per day for continued violations.
