Building Energy Savings Program

Purpose of the Ordinance

Introduced in 2023, Orlando’s Building Energy Savings Program aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce consumption in large buildings.

Applicability of the Ordinance

The ordinance applies to commercial and multifamily buildings of 50,000 square feet or more, as well as public and government properties meeting the same threshold.

Compliance Requirements

Building owners must conduct energy audits or retrocommissioning and submit results to the city. Penalties for non-compliance range from $20 to $100 per day, with each day considered a separate violation.
