Purpose of the Ordinance
Reno’s Commercial Building Benchmarking and Market Transparency law, enacted in 2019, aims to enhance energy performance through transparency and benchmarking.
Applicability of the Ordinance
The ordinance applies to commercial and public buildings of 50,000 square feet or more.
Compliance Requirements
Owners must benchmark their energy usage and submit data to the city. Non-compliance results in fines of up to $500.
